Washington D.C.

Today we went to D.C. to celebrate Latrice's 30th Birthday. Even though we were here 7 years ago, Latrice and I never formally toured all of the memorials in D.C.. So, today we made a day of it. It was a good day. The weather was good most of the day, although it rained towards the end. However, we were still able to get around. The drive there is not bad at all. However, parking at the memorials is terrible. The designated spots are very far and not very accessible. I recommend that visitors grab a tour bus (double decker) and let it shuttle you from place to place.
Also, if you ever get the chance to go during the week, do it because the crowds are very light. The memorials are all free of charge so, that is a good thing. Even though the parking was far it was free. After our tour of the memorials we went to the Union Station in D.C. and walked around for a while. We found some chocolates that we bought when we were in Brussels, Belgium. The lady at the stand said that these were flown in from Belgium as well. So, that was a surprise and a treat. Belgium chocolate is the best!
