Oh my. I can hardly believe the changes that I have been going through the past 2 weeks. The past week in particular has been the most noticeable. Up til recently, everyone's been saying that I'm not showing and that it doesn't look like I'm pregnant with twins. I haven't worried about it much because I know my time is coming. Well, I didn't know it would hit so fast. So I'm guessing that the babies are in a real growth spurt right now. For the past two weeks, I have been feeling fuller and my skin has been feeling tighter. This past week, I have been uncomfortable with the changes. All my innards feel shifted and my sense of balance is off kilter. My belly skin feels stretched tight as a drum. I get hungrier a lot more frequently, but the filling capacity of my stomach has diminished dramatically. I'm eating about half the amount I usually eat at most meals. However, once in a blue moon, I can eat a truckload. Sleeping is getting really rough. My shoulder and hip are continually sore from sleeping on my sides. And I'm just feeling generally crappy. When I walk, I feel like something is wrong. Like my spleen is where my kidney should be. This past weekend, Javier and I went shopping for some maternity clothes. It was a huge relief to put on pants that actually are comfortable. My local girlfriend also gave me some of her past duds, but mostly tops. I was in real need of some pants.
I've been wanting to do some shopping for baby items, but egads! There is so much stuff out there. I feel like I'm way out of my league. It's like a whole different language and I'm not speaking it. There are so many gadgets and widgets, and I just don't really know what is really useful or just junk. I want to cloth diaper, but I'm afraid that I'll be in over my head with two little tushies to change. At least we live on base and I don't have to worry about the water and electricity bill.
In other news, we finally received our furniture and household goods from the military yesterday. A lot of stuff was chipped, scratched and broken, and we even had a few boxes come up missing. This was probably our worst moving experience ever. It'll be awhile before we are able to assess full damages and turn in a claim to the military. Until then, it's very slow going getting this house put together. Neither Javier or I are motivated to tackle the big job. Our stuff is everywhere and it just seems overwhelming. Javier checks into his school on Tuesday so we only have a few days before he's busy and needs space.
How do I feel right now? Belly feels tight and big. I'm tired and exhausted even though I haven't done much today and even took a short nap. I'm hungry, but the meat hasn't thawed out from the freezer for the spaghetti I'm making tonight. And a little headache is creeping up on me. I better go take some tylenol before it turns into a migraine. Ta Ta.

Update as promised
Wow, I can hardly believe it's Friday already.
Yesterday's doctor appointment went well. I have gained 4 pounds since my last visit and the doctor seems to be happy with that. He performed an ultrasound and we were able to see the babies move around. It was really amazing to see their bone structure. It is still to early to find out their sexes, but we expect to find out at our next appointment next month. And yes, we will reveal the news when we get it. For now, the babies are growing well and equally and the doctor says that we are progressing well.
Now to back track a little. The cruise was amazing. It was great to have so much at the tip of your fingertips and not have to expend any effort into finding things to do. The food was really good. Neither one of us got sick on the cruise ship. I did lose my lunch after a rocky ride on a smaller boat that took us back and forth between the ship and a shore destination. Javier had a good time and even though we didn't do as much as we could due to my pregnancy, he was very understanding. Our room had a balcony and it was lovely to sit out there and enjoy the breeze and gaze at the vast ocean. The weather was pretty hot but manageable for the most part. The most uncomfortable time for me was Cozumel Mexico where it was dreadfully hot and humid. I won't go into huge detail about the trip due to lack of time. There is still a lot that has to be done today and I need to get to it.
Regarding our move, it is coming along. I didn't get a lot of cleaning done yesterday because I came down with a horrible headache after getting home from the doctor's office. I took a nap and tylenol and was pretty much out of commission for the rest of the day. So there is extra things to accomplish today. We will be cleaning the house and loading the cars. The cable guy will be coming to pick up the cable box and modem early today. That means I will lose this internet connection. I will try to update as circumstances permit, but likely it will have to wait until we set up house in Virginia. I have a long list of errands to do and so does Javier. We intend to leave here tomorrow at 10am to start our long journey towards the east coast. We'll be driving separate cars, but we have walkie talkies to keep in easy contact with each other. We expect to take 3 days to drive there as I don't tolerate sitting in the car for too many hours on end. Once we get to Virginia, we will have 2 weeks to find a place to live and move in before Javier has to check in to his school. I hope it goes smoothly and we find something that works for us. Since we are only staying in Virginia for one year, I'm not too picky.
Well, I suppose I should get started on my day while I'm feeling good and don't have a headache. I hope to post again soon. Oh and sorry for no pictures. I don't have my camera cables and this is not my computer anyway. Once we get settled in Virginia, I will try and remember to post pics from our cruise and also some ultrasound pics.
