Easter 2010

Well, the boys' second Easter came and went. The spring has started out beautifully. We took the boys out to a local park with friends and the boys had their first crack at an Easter egg hunt. Well, it was not very successful. There were a couple hundred kids and they were running and swept up all the eggs in two minutes flat. But the boys were not disappointed because I thought ahead and brought my own stash of eggs to throw around. They were happy enough to pick up the eggs that I threw around and put them in their baskets.

Yesterday, Javier started smoking a brisket and it was ready this morning for brunch. It was so delicious. I'm so glad he decided to try smoking a brisket. I look forward to more briskets in the future.

The days are flying by lately. Our lives are consumed with finding a new home and trying to move out in a month. So far, we have seen homes we love that are too expensive, or homes we can afford that are not available until later in the summer, or homes that we love and can afford but are promised to other people ahead of us. It's frustrating to be looking for another home after only living here for one year, but that's just how it goes sometimes.

In other news, my mother is going to visit some of her friends back in Washington state next month. She is looking forward to spending time with her friends. Additionally, my sister in law, Jackie, is coming out to stay with us to hang out with the boys and possibly help us move if we find a house to move into. The boys have changed so much and I'm sure it will be a good time for everyone.

The weather has been great lately. It's been nice to get the boys outdoors and running around. They are really enjoying running around the backyard and playing with a water-play table my mother bought them for Easter.

The boys' routine has changed a lot over the past few months. While there are activities and other events that occur occasionally, for the most part, their daily routine looks like this:

630-700am - awake

730-800am - breakfast

playtime

930am - 8 oz bottle of milk

playtime

1130-12pm - lunch

1-230pm - naps

playtime

330pm - 8 oz bottle of milk

530-630pm - dinner

7pm - 8 oz bottle of milk & bedtime routine

8pm - asleep

Sometimes, they wake up a little early, and consequently, have their naps before lunch. Then, we'll have a late lunch and carry on with the rest of our day. They are very active and full of energy. We try to get them outdoors regularly for exercise and playtime.

I have been terrible at taking pictures lately, so I'm trying to make up for that. And I can't even remember the last time I took video footage of the boys, so I really need to keep the camcorder handy for those precious moments.

I hope our family and friends enjoy the pictures I've posted. I try to include a variety of candid shots that capture some of the personality of my little cuties.
