We finally got the "word" on where we are going next. ....It's back to the east coast.... Quantico, VA for 1 year. Javier was selected for a 10 month school called Expeditionary Warfare School (EWS). In the long run, it will be good for Javier's career.... or so he says. He has to report in at the end of July, so we will probably move sometime late June in order to find a place and get settled in before Javier starts classes. I will probably look for some part-time nursing job.... hopefully staying in the critical care specialty. Why part time? ..... We are still trying to expand the family, and if it happens, well.... there is no need for me to be working full time. I'll probably be able to do it longer if it's only part time. I just need to keep my skills up. I can't even fathom not working at all. Javier doesn't want me to work if I get pregnant here or after the baby is born, but we'll have to find a middle ground, and I think working part time is a good option.
I digress. So after the year in Quantico, we'll get stationed somewhere else for 3 years. No, we don't know. Won't find out til this time next year. We are hoping for New River, NC. There is a little place in my heart that is hoping for San Diego, CA. We'll just have to wait and see.
So just 4 more months here. I've got a lot of planning, purging, and organizing to do to get ready for this move. And I've got other tidbits to consider during this time. I'm going to a critical care nurse convention in March for a week in Chicago. I can hardly wait. Our anniversary is at the end of June, so we need to decide if we're going to celebrate and then move, or move and then celebrate. And of course, we would like to get a visit down to Texas to see la familia, but we will have to see how everything works out. There's a lot to do and very little time to do it all in.
We've been really happy here in Kansas City. It's been great, but it's time to move on. I'll be glad to leave this snowy place behind. The countdown has officially begun.

Is no news really good news?
Ok, I don't have any "news". I just thought it had been quite awhile since either of us updated.
Javier is working and so am I. We have settled back into routines and now living together feels normal again. We still don't know where we are moving next, but hope to know something more by the end of the month.
Things are well so far. We hope the same is true for all our friends and family.
